The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team working on the LNG Canada project in Kitimat, British Columbia in the traditional territory of the Haisla Nation.
The LNG Canada project is a joint venture backed by five global energy companies with substantial experience in liquefied natural gas. Together Shell, PETRONAS, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation and KOGAS are designing, building and operating a world-class export terminal in Kitimat, British Columbia. The Clough/PPM joint venture has been awarded the EPC contract for designing and building a loadout line trestle.

The Position
In this role, you will perform or witnesses a series of inspection and testing surveillance activities to confirm executed work complies with contractual quality requirements. This is a fly in/fly out assignment, with a rotation schedule of 14 days on and 7 days off. We require both day and night shift inspectors.
• Conduct Visual Inspections for welding CSA W178.2 Level 1, including Pile Splicing/Headstock to Pile/Bracing to Pile/Zipper Plates, and pile fit up prior to welding
• Conduct weld pre-heat and root pass verifications
• Provide input to weld maps
• Verify pile PDA, load bearing installations and survey reports, including pile placement, headstock placement, t-beam and roadway slab placement
• Verify coating test reports
• Manage the weld eye database
• Ensure inspection, testing and verification of work is carried out in accordance with verification check plans, work packs, installation check sheets, ITP’s, project standards, referenced specifications etc.
• Review, input, develop ITP’s, compile inspection reports
• Ensure all interested parties identified on ITP’s hold and witness intervention points are present for inspection and that activities are inspected and comply with requirement as work progresses
• Review and confirm compliance of quality verification records
• Report on quality performance, highlighting issues and concerns to management and assist in the close out of quality issues
• Liaise with key stakeholders (Suppliers, Sub-Contractors, Engineers, Site Supervisors, etc.) to promote required quality acceptance criteria
• Issue NCR’s for non-conforming products and input into corrective / preventative action solutions
• Manage traceability throughout a project; request various forms of NDT, compile weld & material traceability, compile pressure test packs, etc.
• Stop the progress of works and report to management when any non-conformance with quality requirements is identified
• Compile, review and approve MDR’s / MRB’s
Requirements
• Relevant trade qualification
• Welding Level 1
• NACE Level 2
• IIW/WTIA/CSWIP – Welding Specialist / Welding Inspector
• 3+ years minimum experience in similar role; civil experience is essential
• Welding/Coating/Piling/Civil Experience
